Wooly Wear

I seem to knit in fits and starts. I think I am like a lot of knitters - I get so excited about starting a new project, picking out the wool, casting on..And then somewhere the desire to knit leaves me and I have a load of unfinished projects waiting for my attention. With the cooler weather, I have again been inspired to knit. I finished a pair of socks for myself the other day! I love them. They are the Saguaro Socks (on Ravelry) and I knit them up with a wool from Diamond called Fancy Free. It is a merino alpaca nylon blend. So wonderfully soft and squishy!

I am finishing up a pair of felted boot slippers for Lil'G (Snugs from Pick Up Sticks). They are taking me forever! But I am on the second lining (pink alpaca) and all that is left after knitting that up is sewing them together and felting them! I have never felted anything before - on purpose that is! - so this is a bit of an adventure. Hopefully a happy one.
And I couldn't resist a 25% off sale at my LYS. Two skeins of Mirasol Hacho - destined to be another pair of socks for me.

I am going to try knitting two at a time on two circular needles. Seems simple enough...Famous last words.

Fall Is In the Air

Today it is very windy - great gusts are pulling leaves off the trees, sending them scurrying about. The sun is shining and it is a gorgeous day. But I can feel the chill of fall creeping closer every morning.
The renos are going well. We still don't have a roof, but the floor was glued down yesterday. Walls are going up on Monday. Yay! I climbed up on the roof the other day to check out the view. I am terrified of heights so this was a huge deal for me....

Last weekend we took Lil'G to the Fall Fair. She loves the animals and of course the giant pumpkins. Who wouldn't?

Enjoy your weekend!

Destruct-o-matic

My very first post!
My house is currently being torn apart - it is a bit of a horror show. We are adding a second story to our teeny tiny house which is equally exciting and terrifying. This morning the roof was down to the rafters...

I shipped Lil'G off to the Grandparent's house for the night so I can get some work done.

I have been trying to find the time amidst the chaos to design some new bags. What I have done is discover needle felting. Amazing and really quite simple to figure out. I am addicted!
That is the plan for today. I think I will put on my headphones and listen to some drum and bass and drown out the pounding that accompanies destruction!
