I just saw the new Isabel Marant collection. It was gorgeous. The cropped pants, the jackets and coats....oh my! Very rock and roll retro cool vibe. x

New work

These are a couple of the new bags I have for sale at Global Underground. I have been working on some lovely new purses in shades of plum and green. I am super excited about the woolly tweeds I found to upcycle. They are going to make some gorgeous bags for fall.
Not that I am ready for fall... x

Music!

link

My friend, Ben, does a radio show called The Norm.L on our local co-op radio station (CJLY 93.5 FM) on Thursday nights. He alternates hosting duties with another fellow by the name of Tyler. They play some really awesome tunes - hip hop, jungle, drum and bass, a little reggae....Its a great mix.
Here is a link to a podcast of their most recent show. You can also check it out live from 10pm - 12am PST on Thursday evenings at Kootenay Co-op Radio.
Happy listening and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! x

Sadie

You will be missed, my beautiful Sadie. May you always have green grass and shade, lush forests to run through and cold lakes to swim in. I love you.

We took a holiday!

It was short. But it was a holiday away from work and home so that was wonderful. We went to Summerland, in the Okanagan and did a little camping on the way. It has been so long since I have been camping and it was the Wee Beast's first time. She was over the moon excited! It was adorable. And for so many hours spent in the car she was incredibly well behaved. I think it helped that we brought a ton of books and colouring stuff, not to mention the old school standby, The Gameboy. That bought us some chatter-free time.

We went to Summerland for the sole purpose of riding the old Kettle Valley Railway steam train. Someone is obsessed with trains. When the Wee Beast saw the train for the first time I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head! She was also a little freaked out. I mean, the engine is huge and it makes a lot of noise. It was pretty spectacular.
We went on a touristy ride for about 2 hours. Not something I would normally have done but it was actually quite a lovely ride. And an amazing dream come true for my daughter. ♥

On the sewing front, I seem to have my creative mojo back. I have been sewing like crazy and have finished some new bags. They will be at Global Underground's new location soon. If you haven't checked out their new space, you should. It is beautiful!
