I can't stop....

....listening to this band. They are The xx and are from the UK. A guy played them last week at work. I came home, bought the album and haven't been able to stop listening to it.

Rainy Day

The rain is starting to get to me. Where is the sunshine? It will come out for a couple of days, just to tease, and then it is gone again. Ugh.
So, in an effort to bring a bit of summer into my life, the Wee Beast and I made graham crackers and marshmallows. We were going to have some kitchen s'mores but never got around to the chocolate bit.
I used this recipe I found on Angry Chicken's blog and this recipe for the homemade marshmallows. They are both amazing! The graham crackers aren't too sweet and were really easy to make. I omitted the cinnamon sugar topping since I was going to top them with marshmallows.

The marshmallows are a zillion times better than anything I have ever bought from a store. Yes, they are basically just pure sugar but there is nothing I can't pronounce in the ingredients.

Did I mention that they were really really good?

We are planning on doing a little camping this summer so I think another batch of these will be in order so we can make campfire s'mores. Or maybe just fire-roasted marshmallows.
Have a fantastic weekend! x

Score!

I just wanted to share this awesome vintage dress that I found (for a buck!) while I was scouring the racks at the Salvation Army. The smocking is amazing! I figured it would be a good dolly dress but as soon as the Wee Beast saw it she wanted to wear it. Well, it fits. It is far from being a dress but it will be sweet with a little pair of shorts for summer.

P.S. The Sally Ann is loaded with great stuff right now!

Ride on.

A friend posted a link to a blog that is featuring some of Dennis Hopper's (1936-2010) photographs. There are some fabulous pictures. Have a look.
What was your favourite Dennis Hopper film? I must say, I loved him in 'True Romance'. He was bad ass. And of course who could forget him in David Lynch's 'Blue Velvet'.

Off to tend to the garden while it isn't raining then onto some sewing. Enjoy the weekend! x
